Selma Community Excited About ‘Selma’ Movie Opening

From the West Alabama Newsroom–  There’s a sense of excitement in the air in Selma about the opening of the ‘Selma’ movie — and the opportunity residents have to see it for free.

The line to get the advanced tickets to the movie wrapped around the Walton Theater in Selma by the time it opened for the ticket giveaway.

Each resident could get up to two free tickets to any one of ten showings of the movie at the theater this weekend.

Ulysses Woodyard of Selma was among the first to get tickets.

“I’ve seen a preview on TV so that make me want to come and see it so I’m glad to get a chance to watch it,” said Woodyard.

Advance tickets will be available again Friday from 11 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 6 pm.

The ‘Selma’ movie opens nationwide Friday.

 

Show times at Selma Walton Theater:

Friday show times are at 4:15 — 7 pm – and 9:45.

Saturday show times are at — 1:30 – 4:15 — 7 pm – and 9:45.

And Sunday show times are at 1:30 – 4:15 and 7 pm.
