Pike County Timber Co. Goes Before Federal Judge

Owners of a Pike County timber company cited with safety violations go before a federal judge.
The Peacock Timber Company is protesting multiple citations from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration or OSHA.
According to documents on OSHA’s website, examiners went to the saw mill this past February because of a complaint.
They issued 4 citations – including one for allowing employees to operate industrial trucks that didn’t have seat belts.
On another visit by examiners in March… the company was cited for unsafe noise exposure for the employees.
These violations totaled more than 6-thousand dollars in penalties.
No word yet on when the judge will rule.
