Search for New School Superintendent Underway in Selma

From the West Alabama Newsroom–  The search for a new superintendent of the Selma City School district is underway by the Alabama Association of School Boards.

The AASB is taking applications — then will narrow the field of candidates down to four or five finalists.

Those names will be submitted to the school board and public interviews will be set up.

People around town say picking the right person to lead the district is an important decision.

“We have seen what can happen if you don’t have strong leadership,” said James Perkins.

“I’m looking for someone that’s going to have a strong reputation for accountability on all levels,” said Carolyn Robinson.

“One of the main qualities I would like to see them possess is a love for the children and what the children need,” said Dee Henderson.
