Two Children Killed in Montgomery House Fire

Montgomery — A house fire claimed the lives of two children and sent a third to the hospital. Montgomery firefighters were called to the home at 751 Alexander Street at 12:47 a.m. Friday. Authorities say a 1-month-old and a 3-year-old died in the fire. A 2-year-old was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham in critical condition. The children’s father received burns trying to get the children out of the house. Montgomery Fire and rescue and Montgomery Police Department are conducting a joint investigation to determine the cause of the fire. The fire was well involved when firefighters arrived, and the house received extensive damage. The names of the victims have not yet been released.
