Selma Riverfront Amphitheater Nearing Completion

From the West Alabama Newsroom– Construction of the riverfront amphitheater in Selma is taking shape.
The roof and the frame for the stage-house area for the amphitheater are now in place.
Selma Planning and Development Director James Benderson says the amphitheater is more than 80-percent complete. He says the project should be finished in the next few weeks.
“The phase after that would be continue building out the riverfront park to compliment the amphitheater,” said Benderson.
“We’re going to add you know some other park features such as your pavilions, your playgrounds and things like that that people expect to see to see in the park when they go there.”
Benderson says the next phase of riverfront project should get underway as soon as construction of the amphitheater is completed.
