A judge has set a trial date for a former VA Tuskegee employee who is accused of sexual abuse of a mentally disabled volunteer.
Eric Allen of Auburn is scheduled for trial on April 12 in Opelika.
Allen is facing two counts of sexual abuse resulting from incidents that happened in August involving a female volunteer with Down Syndrome.
A defense attorney says Allen suffered from a stroke that has caused mental health issues and cognitive delays.
He has pleaded not guilty.
