Trial date has been set for house speaker Mike Hubbard on ethics charges.
Prosecutors and defense lawyers agreed on an Oct. 19 trial date for the high-profile case during a Friday scheduling conference in Opelika.
Attorneys say the case will take approximately two weeks.
A grand jury indicted Hubbard in October on 23 felony ethics charges accusing him of using his public offices for personal benefit.
He has pleaded not guilty.
Hubbard’s trial was originally set for march but due to the legislative session starting around the that time they move the date.
