Two young children lose their lives in a Montgomery house fire earlier this month. And Saturday family and friends said their final goodbyes.
Three-year-old Tymothy Jackson Junior and 1-month-old Ty’Leah were laid to rest at the New Life Church of God in Christ.
A toaster oven is believed to be the cause of that fatal fire on January 16th.
This service was made possible by restaurants, companies, and individuals who rallied behind the Byrd and Jackson families and donated.
You could feel their grief, but also joy talking about Tymothy and Ty’Leah.
Tymothy affectionately called Dodabug was full of life. And even at the age of three had a strong personality and a strong faith in God.
Jessica Byrd, Victims’ Mother said, “For my sake I really needed the encouraging words and everyone coming up to me and giving me encouragement, I just couldn’t do it.”
Mitchell Fields, Pastor New Life Church of God in Christ Annex Four said, “Tragedy comes every man and we must take it one day at a time. And this is a lesson to be learned that this community doesn’t just go away when hard times come.”
Jessica said, “Like my son said I need to stay strong like superman.”
The property owner donated the lot to the family and a business owner is working to help rebuild with the help of the community.
Their 2-year-old daughter was also badly burned, she’s still recovering in a Birmingham Hospital.
She’s undergone several surgeries, but is alert and moving around and is on the road to recovery.
