Governor Robert Bentley says State Taxes Will Increase
Governor Robert Bentley says state taxes will increase over the next four years.
He went on to say Friday that no one wants to pay more, but says Alabama has no choice if it hopes to address its budget crisis.
Bentley did not detail a specific plan, but said the state cannot solve its fiscal problems through spending cuts alone.
In November, he said Alabama needed to raise an additional 700 million dollars.
Lawmakers would have to approve any tax plan that Bentley proposes.
