Wetumpka Held its Second Annual Mardi Gras Parade

The good times rolled through downtown Wetumpka today. The city held its second annual Mardi Gras Parade.

This year’s theme was Pirates of the Coosa.

The parade began at the First Baptist Church and wound through downtown Wetumpka, ending at the Civic Center.

Wetumpka high school’s band marched in the parade, and threw beads out to spectators.

It was a chance for the city to have some family fun on this Valentine’s Day.

The event also gave the people of Wetumpka the chance to meet the city’s new police chief, Danny Billingsley.

There was a meet-and-greet with the new chief during the festivities.
