Deputies Needed in Autauga Co.
The Autauga County sheriff says six more deputies are needed for patrolling and investigations.

Sheriff Joe Sedinger says he needs four more deputies for road patrols and two officers to handle investigations.

A lack of funding and low staff levels earlier prompted Sedinger to move two deputies from investigations to the patrol division. He said his investigative unit is now more than 20 cases behind.

He said as few as three deputies are on patrol on any given day. The office has not added a new deputy positon since 2010.
