Selma: Facing The Future

A little later this year the city of Selma will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights Movement and then the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Selma.
Both events put a spotlight on the city’s historic past but what does the future hold for the Selma and Dallas County area?
Community leaders say they’re working to develop industry in areas that takes advantage of the many resources available in the area.
Tonight, find out what else is being done to prepare for the future and deal with the area’s biggest challenges.
“We’re still trying to find things to work together, create the type of environment that people want to come and visit Selma through things that we have here to offer as far as civil rights, history as well as hospitality.” says Selma Mayor, George Evans.
