City Leaders Discuss 50th Anniv. of Selma to Montgomery March
Senator Hank Sanders and other city leaders are discussing the plans for 50th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery march.
At a news conference today leaders announced they will hold a full march re-enactment on Sunday March 8th.
The 54 mile march will begin in Selma and end in Montgomery on Friday March 13th with an event on the steps of the capitol at 11am.
Senator Sanders says it’s important that we re-enact the full march this year.
President Obama is still planning to visit Selma on  Saturday March 7th, the actual date of “bloody Sunday.”
