Council On Aging Holds Annual Fundraising Dinner

Today, the Montgomery Area Council On Aging held its 21st Annual Culinary Caper fundraiser for the Meals on Wheels Program.
Each daythe program delivers meals to more than 350 seniors in their homes. Many of those seniors are home-bound.
The fundraiser helps pay for food and other costs of running the program. Hundreds of volunteers work with the program to deliver the meals.
Program coordinators say it makes a huge difference in the lives of local senior citizens.
Executive Director Donna Marietta says the meal-time visits are also a good way for volunteers to spend to spend time with the seniors and check up on their well-being.
