The search is on for the next Alabama head basketball coach after Anthony Grant was fired over the weekend.

It may not be much of a shock for Alabama fans. Anthony Grant was there for six seasons and led the team only once to a NCAA tournament.
Sports analyst John Longshore says that was probably the main factor in letting Grant go.
Longshore says while there aren’t any real prospects for the position, he knows of a coach that would be a great candidate.

“Former Mississippi State head coach Rick Stansbury, he’s now an assistant coach at Texas A&M, coached at MS state. If you can win at Starkville, MS, you can win just about anywhere. He got into it a couple of times on the recruiting trail. But if the guy can recruit and produce, might need to take a look at him as well,” said Longshore.

Grant led the Tide to a 18-14 season.
