Amnesty Day Wednesday in Troy

Any one with an outstanding warrant out of Troy, here’s a program you can take advantage of.

The first ever amnesty day is being held at Troy Municipal Court. Until 5:30 p.m. anyone can come in to clear your case without concern of being arrested.

This applies to any warrants from failure to appear, unpaid fines, parking, traffic, litter or animal citations.

All you have to do is go to the front desk in the Troy Municipal Court and pay off or set up a payment plan for the citation.

Neal Armstrong, Troy Municipal Court Administrator, Court Clerk said, “They have a warrant out for their arrest for running a stop sign from 2002. Well they cant call 911, they don’t want to be arrested they don’t want to go to jail. So they can’t use the system for protection, they can’t allow our officers to serve them and protect them because of some simple traffic citation from 10, 12 years ago so today is a day to clear that up.”

You can go in on your own time until 5:30.

It’s a process that should only take about 10 to 15 minutes.

DUI’s and wreckless driving charges do not apply.
