Boxwood Blight Fungus Found in Troy Lowe’s Garden Center

Agriculture leaders are warning consumers about an incurable fungus found in stores across Alabama, including Pike County.
The Alabama Farmers Federation says that state agriculture investigators found the fungus—Boxwood Blight in some Alabama Lowe’s Garden Centers, including the Troy location.
The fungus can kill young plants and can spread short distances by wind and rain.
Ag. investigators are urging anyone who’s bought boxwoods in the past six months to check plants for leaf spots, black stem lesions and loss of leaves.
