Montgomery County District Attorney Daryl Bailey is making sure parents know the dangers of the social media apps their kids are using.

So what are kids using? Some at Vaughn Elementary tell us they use apps called Oovoo, Kik, Sykpe, ShapChat.
5th graders at Vaughn Road Elementary School were all ears Thursday afternoon as Bailey talked about the dangers that can come with having social media, like bullying, over-sharing and sexual predators.
“When we were in school, we didn’t have social media,” he says. “Everything traveled by word of mouth. And now with social media, it’s so easy for everyone to communicate and to communicate anonymously.”
The students we spoke with say they learned a lot from the meeting, though some had already learned some social media etiquette at home.
