State’s Largest Historic District on Display at Annual Historic Selma Pilgrimage

From the West Alabama newsroom–Â The 40th annual Historic Selma Pilgrimage gets underway in Selma.
The annual Historic Selma Pilgrimage combines history — architecture — and art by opening up some of the city’s historic buildings for public display.
The historic Jackson Home — where Dr. Martin Luther King, Junior led the Selma Voting Rights Movement in 1965 is a part of the Pilgrimage this year.
Organizers say the event showcases the largest historic district in the state.
