Montgomery Public Library Hosted its Five Days to Freedom Celebration

The Montgomery Public Library is starting off commemorations as the historic march heads back to the capital city.

The library, which sits on the march trail hosted its Five Days to Freedom celebration, honoring the role that people from Montgomery played in the march.

Toia Jones and Michael McDonald performed, and even Mickey and Minnie Mouse stopped by to say hi to the kids.

The librarians say they want people to use the library’s resources to learn more about the Civil Rights Movement.

Librarians from the Montgomery Public Library will be out Tuesday in support of those reenacting the Selma to Montgomery march.

They will pass out water as marchers pass by.
