AUBURN, Ala. – Horace Spencer, a 6-9, 215-pound power forward, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Auburn next season, head coach Bruce Pearl has announced.

“We are very excited about Horace Spencer,” Pearl said. “He brings toughness, athleticism and the ability to defend and rebound at a very high level. Horace is an outstanding young man who has terrific upside.”

Spencer is ranked 53rd in the 247sports composite rankings, 59th in the ESPN 100 and 64 by Scout and is a consensus 4-star recruit.

Originally from Warminster, Pa., Spencer played at Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev., for the past two years. In the most recently completed season, he averaged 10.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, helping the team to a 29-3 record and a number four national ranking.

Spencer is the fifth signee for Pearl and his staff, joining a trio of 4-star recruits in guard T.J. Dunans (Atlanta, Ga.), forward Danjel Purifoy (Centreville, Ala.) and guard New Williams (Santa Monica, Calif.) and 3-star guard Bryce Brown (Decatur, Ga.).

“This is a very complete class that will be the foundation for the future of Auburn basketball,” Pearl said.
