A group of Troy University students made the playground their classroom today.
It’s part of a partnership between Troy City Schools and Troy University.
Thirteen students spent two days a week this semester working with children with special needs at the Early Childhood Center.
They were partnered up and worked on things like fine and gross motor skills.
Many of the university students say it’s bittersweet that the time with their student is over.
Latrina Kelly, a Troy University Junior said, “This shouldn’t be the last day I want to come back and work with him more because I’m having fun and learning myself to, how to work with the child so I’m going to miss him.”
The students spent their last day at the City of Troy’s Miracle League Playground.
The Parks and Rec department helped make the handicap accessible playground a reality with a lot of support from the community.
