Annual Battle of Selma Civil War Reenactment in Full Swing in Selma
From the West Alabama Newsroom–Â There’s a full slate of activities on tap at the Annual Battle of Selma Civil War Re-enactment in Selma.
Reenactors in full period dress spent part of the day Friday teaching students about life in the 18-60s. The day’s events also included a night canon firing and a camp dance.
James Hammonds is one of the organizers of the event.
“Its like a history book reaching out and grabbing you by the collar are shaking you and saying — pay attention,” said Hammonds.
