MONTGOMERY, AL — The Jimmy Hitchcock Awards honors young student-athletes who demonstrate christian leadership.
This year’s winners were Carver’s Melvin Tyus, Morgan Maxwell from hooper academy, and Frances Freeman of montgomery academy.
Redskins QB Kirk Cousins was the guest speaker of the event.
“I just want to affirm in them what they’ve done this far,” said Cousins. “And encourage them as they finish high school and head to college to continue to make positive choices, continue to be leaders, and be a good influence to people around them.”
