Charles Henderson High School culinary students had a special guest teacher Tuesday.

Patricia Barnes, also known as Sister Schubert, spent the day in the kitchen with about 15 students, talking about entrepreneurship and baking her famous rolls.

Patricia Barnes is the woman behind Sister Schubert’s Rolls.

What started as a small business out of her home in Troy, has grown into a business producing more than 9 million rolls a day.

Patricia ‘Sister Schubert’ Barnes, Founder, VP Sister Schubert’s Rolls said, “You’ve got to believe in yourself you got to totally 100% believe in your product or your service and then you have to work as hard as you can because I do believe that I was lucky in some aspects of what I did but as Thomas Jefferson said I believe in luck but I believe in hard work more so it’s not the past not always going to be easy but it certainly will be rewarding”

Sister Schubert has two bakeries in Alabama, one in Luverne and one in Mobile, and then another in Kentucky.
