It’s a slip ‘n slide of your dreams… And it’s coming to the capital city.

“This is something that will offer from the youngest to the oldest a day of fun,” said Leslie Martorana of Hands On River Region.

For three days Montgomery Street in downtown will be closed off to make room for a giant water slide with food vendors, music and fun.

“There are going to be 2 different companies that are bringing huge slides to downtown Montgomery. It’s gonna be one thousand feet of fun, so that really speaks volumes about what we have going on here,” said Griffith Waller with the City of Montgomery.

The event will be the weekend of June 6th and 7th and run from 10am until 10pm… And the slide will even have LED lights at night.
Hands on River Region is partnering with the Urban Slide to provide the volunteers to help with the event.

“About 35 volunteers a shift. There is a morning shift, an afternoon shift and an evening shift, about 4 hr shift each,” said Martorana.

Hands on River Region is expecting thousands of people of all ages to join in on the slip and slide fun.
But they say you may want to plan ahead for one thing.

“The only thing I would have a concern about is parking. So those of you who have been to Jubilee City Fest, I think it will be a similar situation. The parking lots and the parking decks will be open but first come, first served.” said Martorana.
