Memorial Day Weekend Signals Rise in River Traffic in Selma
From the West Alabama Newsroom– Memorial Day marks the unofficial start to summer.
And in Selma — that means many people will head to hang out on the Alabama River.
As temperatures increase — so do the activity on the river in Selma. Boat traffic is on the rise and more people are out fishing along the river bank.
Bob Tasso is kayaking the Alabama Scenic River Trail. He’ll spend Memorial on the Alabama River.
“Memorial Day. For all the people that gave it all, you’ve got to take your hat off to them,” said Tasso.
Selma and Dallas County will hold a Memorial Day ceremony at Memorial Stadium Monday at 11 AM. Then observe a Moment of Remembrance with a county-wide minute of silence at 3 PM.
