From the West Alabama Newsroom–  The process of finding the next superintendent of schools continues in Demopolis.

The Demopolis City School district is a school system in transition.

Outgoing supt Al Griffin is retiring after 5 years on the job — and 25 years in education.

The school board has brought in an interim superintendent Frank Costanzo to guide the district until a new superintendent is in place.

“And continue to move the system forward,” said Costanzo. “And make sure that we’re ready for the next school year and I think that’s been done. We have a great staff here at the board of education, all working together. And my job is to get out and hear from them, hear what the issues and concerns are and to make sure everything is ready when school starts.”

The superintendent search is being conducted by the Alabama Association of School Boards.
