The Alabama Tourism Department wants to help get more Alabama made products in gift shops across the state.
Thursday, June 4th there will be an opportunity for that to happen.
It’s the first ever Alabama Makers Marketplace.
Thirty vendors from across the state will be at the RSA activity center to show off their goods to representatives from gift shops across the state.
“Everything from candle makers to soap makers to Priester’s Pecans to Wickles Pickles. I mean, we have great vendors here in the state. And instead of selling something made overseas or from another state, why not give that business to people that’s running their companies and hiring Alabamians?” said Brian Jones with the AL Tourism Dept.
The Alabama Makers Marketplace is 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Thursday the exhibit hall of the RSA Activity Center on Dexter Avenue in downtown Montgomery.
