CHARLOTTE, NC — Former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton agreed to five year, $103.8 million contract extension with the Panthers.
The extension puts him in the 100 million dollar club with Aaron Rodgers, Ben Rothelisberger, Drew Brees and Joe Flacco.
“I’m thankful that this opportunity cam, and that it’s over and done with,” said Newton. “Now that I can focus on playing football and getting the Carolina Panthers to the Super Bowl and winning the Super Bowl, it puts me in cruise control , and I know much more will be expected of me.”
