Alabama to have “Important” role in March Primary Presidential Election

The presidential race is getting full as more candidates announce they are running for the White House.
Â
With a March first primary, Alabamians will be able to vote on more candidates than years past.
Â
“We’ll have a chance to see those candidates before they fall by the wayside. So we’ll see a good many of the candidates . They will spend time here. They will spend money here,” said political analyst Steve Flowers.
Â
Some voters are looking forward to it.Â
Â
“You’re gonna have a good choice of candidates. You’re going to have some that are wasting their money,” said Deborah Ward.
Â
Flowers says even though we may not have as many delegates as other states, Alabama will still be important.
Â
“We will be important because a candidate may say, ‘well, I’m not going to Texas to finish 7th or 8th and get no exposure. Let me go to Alabama. I might could finish 3rd there,’ because they can become more accentuated,” said Flowers.
Â
The so called “SEC” primary will consist of 6 states total including Georgia, Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
Â
Voters say it should be a win-win for both the candidates and the state in general.
Â
“We are smart people and anything we could do to make Alabama better, we should do,” said Ward.
