MIC Check Camp Grows Participation in Second Year

A unique music camp at Troy University is only in it’s second year, but this summer the number of participants has tripled.Â
Â
Today’s the start of the MIC Check, standing for Music Industry Camp. And who better for the high schoolers to learn from than those in a variety of areas in the music industry.Â
Â
Music professionals are teaching master classes focused on performance, engineering, song writing, artist management and more. All to introduce them to the global world of the music industry.Â
Â
Noah Bellamy, Professional Trombonist/ Educator said, “I think a lot of times we focus on the reasons not to do something in music, whether it’s financial or the amount of work or whatever it takes. I’m proof, I think that if you desire a career path in music there are many different avenues and if that’s what you want to do you make it happen.”
Â
Public is invited to the weekend showcase featuring talent of the region at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Long Hall.Â
