Montgomery Prayer Service Planned for Charleston Shooting Victims
As the investigation continues into the mass shooting at a historic church in Charleston, South Carolina, the impact of the loss of those killed is being felt across the country including in the River Region. A citywide prayer service will be held in Montgomery Friday, June 19 at noon at St. John’s AME Church in honor of the nine victims. The church is located at 807 Madison Ave. The service is open to the public. Police officers, Mayor Todd Strange and several city officials are expected to attend.
