Heatwave Has Some Businesses Booming in Selma

From the West Alabama Newsroom– Summertime is peak season for some businesses. And believe it or not — scorching temperatures and intense heat — only make it better.
Keeping cool is serious business when the heat is on. Homer Rose of SBR Heating and Cooling says when the temperature increases — so do the number of calls he gets for service.
“All day today I got jobs to go to and that’s a good thing for me,” said Rose. “The elderly people I try to get them first. You know, I try to get the elderly people first and then the younger customers, I go to them.”
During a heat wave — officials say its important to stay hydrated — wear loose-fitting, lightweight, light-colored clothes — and to not overly exert yourself.
