Church Holds Barbecue Cookoff to Benefit Youth Program
It was a battle of the barbecue at one local church, all for a great cause. Five teams gathered at Maggie Street Baptist Church to compete in two categories: best beef and best pork. There was even a kids competition for the youngest pit masters.Â
Alabama News Network’s Jeff Sanders, Darryl Hood, and Mo Carter joined Montgomery Sheriff Derrick Cunningham to judge the competition. It was $25 to enter the cookoff, and $10 for those just wanting to enjoy the food. All the money raised went toward Maggie Street Baptist Church’s youth program.

The winning team was “Jo-Zeekie”. Congratulations to them for having the best barbecue!Â
