Troy University Offers 2-Week Chinese Course

Troy University is offering a crash course in learning Chinese.Â
This is the fifth year of the University’s STARTALK Chinese summer program.
The 15-day program will train 12 teachers and 24 high-school students on the Chinese language.
The students and teachers are from right here in Alabama and even all across the southeast.
Students are learning the basics and the teachers are going through a more intense training to take back to their own classrooms.
Matthew Ingram, from Montgomery County said, “The Chinese economy is growing beyond belief and I would really like to go over to China one day and maybe do economic or missionary work. There’s a lot more work than I expected but it’s all turning out well, my speech is already improving just from the three days being here.”
The program runs through July 12th and is being funded through a $120,000 grant from the National Security Agency.
