Cooling Stations Throughout Montgomery

Heat advisories are in effect through Sunday. And Montgomery city leaders are  taking extra steps to make sure residents can stay cool. Community centers, libraries and fire stations will all be open as cooling stations. You can stop over at any of those places during business hours. They will have water and firefighters will check your blood pressure. They say it’s important to recognize the signs of heat stroke.

Jeffrey Chambers, Montgomery Fire Lieutenant said, “They need to be aware of the situation outside. It is going to be really hot and if they start to feel dizzy or lightheaded check for signs -that’s a good sign you are having a heat stroke. And if you stop sweating you need to realize that’s what’s happening you may be having a heat stroke. And you need to sit down relax. Drink some water.”
