A bomb threat Monday afternoon prompted mass evacuations at Montgomery’s Eastchase shopping complex.

Montgomery’s police and fire departments along with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency evacuated the large shopping center while stores were searched. A helicopter was used to inspect rooftops.

After about three hours, police said they found no devices and reopened Eastchase to shoppers.

Alabama News Network doesn’t normally report bomb threats, but did so in this instance because of the thousands of people affected.

Police are continuing the investigation into who made the threat.
