One Man Killed, Two Other Men Hurt in Selma Shooting

Selma police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and two others hurt.

Police say around 9:30 Wednesday night, they were called to the 2600 block of Tipton Street. That’s where officers say they found three men with gunshot wounds inside a pickup truck.

Police say a 26-year-old man had been shot twice, once in the thigh and the other in the abdomen. In addition, they say a 34-year-old man had a gunshot wound to the head and a 33-year-old man had been shot in the hand.

Police say the 26-year-old died of his injuries, while the 34-year-old was taken to a Montgomery hospital for treatment and the 33-year-old was treated and released.

Their names haven’t been released.

Police say one of the men told them a tan or cream-colored Chevrolot Tahoe was at the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and Highway 80 East, stopped at the traffic light when they approached the intersection to turn, the man says the people in the Tahoe started shooting at them.

Police say the motive is unknown.
