Sun Festival Draws Crowds to Alex City

 The Sun Festival in Alexander City is in full swing. The week long events have brought in big business for the local economy.  This is the third year of the festival. 

It wraps up tomorrow with the David Nail concert at the Sportsplex.  There’s 59 events total, including everything from a sidewalk chalk competition to a blood drive. 
 
Amber Rhodes, from Alex City said,  “I think it’s great for the community, we get a lot of turnout for these type of things. A lot of parents love it to get family friendly things in the city so everybody takes part in it it’s fun all around for everybody.”
 
The Band Battle is underway tonight at Strand Park. The winner will open for David Nail tomorrow night at the Sportsplex.
