Alabama State Football Announces 2016 Opener

MONTGOMERY – Alabama State University interim Athletic Director Melvin Hines today announced the season opener for the 2016 Hornet football season. A one-year deal has been reached with the University of Texas-San Antonio for the Hornets to play the Conference USA member Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 in the Alamodome. Game time will be announced at a later date. It will be the first meeting between the two programs.

The Hornets report to camp Tuesday, August 4, with the first practice on Wednesday August 5 to begin preparations for the 2015 season. Single game and season tickets to the upcoming ASU football season are available online at www.bamastatesports.com/tickets, by phone at 334-229-4551, or in person at the ASU ticket office located at the ASU Stadium Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
