Political Analyst Steve Flowers says Gov. Robert Bentley is “irrelevant” in the special session the Legislature is holding to pass a General Fund budget.
Flowers was on Alabama News Network at 6:00, saying the only participation Bentley may have in the special session is that he called it. So far, lawmakers have resisted Bentley’s ideas on how to solve the state’s budget issues. Many lawmakers are also upset that Bentley called the special session suddenly for July when they say the plan had been for it to start in August.
Flowers also talked about billionaire Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. A new CNN/ORC poll shows him ahead of all of the 15 other Republican candidates nationwide, with 18% support. Flowers explained how he says that number shows why Trump won’t be the GOP nominee.
