Wilcox Co. DA Hosts Gang Training Seminar in Camden

From the West Alabama Newsroom–Â Â Law enforcement officers from agencies across West Alabama were in Camden Wednesday getting some valuable training on how to identify and deal with gangs.
Wilcox County District Attorney Michael Jackson says high poverty areas around the state are seeing an increase in gang activity.
Jackson says gangs are responsible for most of the crime in communities where they are active.
“And its all about making money,” said Jackson. “They use guns to enforce what they’re trying to do. And the way to make money often times is drugs, selling drugs on the streets and bringing drugs into the community.”
Jackson sponsored the seminar along with the Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama Department of Corrections.
