Across the country… neighbors came out and joined with each other to help curb crime in their communities. It’s called “National Night Out” and many participated across the River Region as well.

In Pike Road, the neighbors got a chance to meet with law enforcement.
Kids were able to tour the simulators and buses.
There were cookouts held at neighborhoods across the area.
It’s all a part of helping you become safer in your home and neighborhood.

“We’re telling about going to look at our video system, looking at our alarm system and trailer, getting some brochures on some things you need to be aware of. If you want to talk about firearm safety, we got the brochures. If you want to go through firearm familiarization course, we got the applications. But that’s what this night is all about,” said Sheriff Derrick Cunningham.

This was the 32nd year for National Night Out. It is held in all fifty states, as well as military bases across the country.
