Inmate Stabbed to Death at Prison in Bullock County

The Alabama Department of Corrections is investigating a fatal stabbing of an inmate at the Bullock County Correctional Facility in Union Springs.   
 
According to a news release, Clemente Curry, 37, was stabbed inside a housing unit of the facility during an altercation with another inmate at approximately 5:15 a.m. Thursday.   Curry died while en route to an off-site medical facility.
 
The statement says Latahhdiack Perkins is a suspect in the stabbing.  Perkins is serving a 35-year sentence on a 2011 murder conviction in Montgomery County. 
 
Curry had served 15 years of a 25-year sentence on a 2000 murder conviction in Calhoun County. 
 
ADOC’s Investigations and Intelligence Division is investigating the stabbing.
