Alabama State Sales Tax Holiday Underway Through Sunday

The annual state sales tax holiday weekend runs from Friday, August 7, through Sunday, August 9, on back-to-school and other items.

The idea is to give parents a break as they shop for clothes, computers and school supplies. The Alabama Retail Association estimates that Alabamians will spend $1.02 billion on back-to-school items.
This is the tenth year that Alabama has held a sales tax holiday weekend. You don’t have to have school-aged children in order to take advantage of the tax savings.
