TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Crimson Tide opened up fall football camp still looking for a starting quarterback, a suspension, and a rant from head coach Nick Saban.
Saban ended his Thursday press conference addressing the unauthorized biography “Nick Saban: The Making of a Coach”
“When we decide to writ an authorized book,” said Saban. “It will have the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.”
Alabama also revealed that injured running back Bo Scarbrough will be suspended for the first for games of the season.
“It’s an NCAA thing,” said Saban. “We have to respect what they say about amatuerism.”
The Crimson Tide still remain without a starting quarterback. During practice, Jake Coker and David Cornwell were taking first team reps, with the other three passer rotating in.
“I think it makes it harder now because we have five guys doing that exactly the same,” said center Ryan Kelly. “Sometimes I’m in there and we are going so fast I don’t realize who is in the game. The fact that I don’t really realize who is in the game I think is the better of the two. That means there’s not a separation in talent of confidence level.”
As Alabama goes through camp, Saban said he hopes his team develops an identity.
