TUSKEGEE, Ala. | The Tuskegee University football team worked out for two hours Friday evening on the practice fields located on top of the hill behind Cleve L. Abbott Memorial Alumni Stadium. It was the second practice of fall camp for the Golden Tigers, who will close out the first week of camp this weekend.

The coaches continued to work on the basics of the Tuskegee system at the beginning of practice before mixing in teaching periods to maximize the reps. Following individual drills, the team came together for 7-on-7 drills, before closing out practice with the offense and defense working on opposite ends of the field.

“I think we got better,” Tuskegee head coach Willie Slater said. “I guess they got the lactic acid out of their system, whatever, it was they got something out. I like what I see, now I am just waiting on them to get into pads to see what they look like. We are still going to be young, you can’t make up for inexperience. But I do think we have ability and I am happy with that.”

Preseason camp continues before classes begin next week, with the first game slated for September 5 against Clark Atlanta at Cleve L. Abbott Memorial Alumni Stadium
