Artur Davis Responds to Ashley Madison Hack

There are allegations against Montgomery mayoral candidate Artur Davis in the Ashley Madison hack. Several sites are reporting Davis is listed on the leaked list of clients of the Ashley-Madison cheating website. This afternoon, Davis responded to the claims saying he is a victim of what he believes to be a smear campaign. “I know Todd Strange is better than this,” Davis said. “I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he would not sanction this kind of smear.” Davis goes on to say this is not the first time this has happened to him and he finds the timing convenient, coming off of a televised debate Thursday night. “If you’ve ever had your name or credit card compromised, there’s a very good chance you can be on this list.” Alabama News Network reached out to Mayor Todd Strange’s campaign who issued this statement: We had absolutely nothing to do with this story. We learned of it like everyone else – from internet news. We have run a 100% positive campaign in all communications, at the direction of Mayor Strange.
