Selma Barbeque Spot Wins Top Honors in Alabama Barbeque Battle

From the West Alabama Newsroom– The hickory smoke has cleared in the Alabama Barbeque Battle — and a barbeque spot in Selma walks away with one of the top honors.
The results are in and its official — Lannie’s Bar-B-Q Spot in Selma has some of the best barbeque in the state.
Lannie’s beat out Big Bob Gibson Bar B-Q to take the title in the Legends category of the online barbeque battle.
Lannie’s has been serving up BBQ and more — since 1946.
Lula Hatcher is the owner.
“The people like whatever we are doing for us to be here, to have been here for 70 years,” she said. “Cause it takes the customers to keep us in business.”
The Alabama Tourism Department conducted the online barbeque contest as part of The Year of Alabama BBQ.
